Developing Value Propositions for Your Program
“Value propositions” are concise statements of benefits or valuable outcomes of a product or service. Value propositions for residency programs include three main elements: (1) a rationale for how partners might benefit from a residency program. (2) an explanation of how a residency program might solve a partner’s most urgent problem. (3) a plan for making the residency mission and vision real and concrete to institutional partners. It is important that residency program leadership define the value-add of their residency program as they build. Value propositions can be used in recruitment and to increase investment in the program by the partners at large. Use this resource as a tool to begin to define your program’s value-add.
